The MUSE task forces have concluded their work and released the following public deliverables

"GSB Access Network Architecture" (Ref. DTF1.9)

The deliverable provides a top-level overview of the GSB architecture for multi-service access. It is a synthesis of the main recommendations from the MUSE research. It also summarises work on additional capabilities for improved delivery of multimedia services and convergence of the fixed access network with mobile services.

"Guidelines for Ubiquitous DSL/Fibre Service Provision" (Ref. DTF2.5)

Solutions for zero-touch service provisioning from remote VDSL units are compared and their investment and operational costs evaluated.

"Specification of a multi-service RGW with multi-provider functionality" (Ref. DTF3.4)

It describes the management of the Residential Gateway and other home devices in a multi-provider scenario. It is a companion document to deliverable DTF3.3 on the specification of an advance multi-service residential gateway.

"Test Suite, for Full-Service End-to-End Analysis of Access Solutions" (Ref. DTF4.4)

This test suite is a comprehensive document that provides a holistic system view on testing, to analyze the capabilities of access systems. It describes a wide range of test objectives in significant detail, and guides the reader through state-of-the-art views and many standards (when appropriate).

MUSE released three new white papers with recommendations on specific network architectural aspects, respectively on AAA, QoS, and FMC.

The MUSE subprojects successfully integrated the lab trials

Some subprojects will continue to evaluate the lab trials until March 2008.

MUSE also achieved the last of three cross-subproject trials. It demonstrates the interoperability of the MUSE specifications by connecting a residential gateway developed in Subproject B with the platform of Subproject C.

Many of the lab trial systems were on display in the exhibition of BB Europe in December 2007. Pictures and presentations of BB Europe can be found on www.ist-muse.eu. The papers of BB Europe will be available via IEEE Xplore and via the conference website www.bbeurope.org.
