Cross
Subproject interconnection of lab trials between Kista and Berlin
The
access lab trial of Subproject C at ACREO in the Swedish Testbed was
successfully connected with the lab trial of Subproject B at T-Systems via the
IST MUPBED testbed.
MUSE
was highly visible at the last BB Europe Conference in Geneva, December 11-14,
2006
Subproject
C demonstrated a Loop Qualification and Monitoring system and Subproject B a lab
model of TR-69/UPnP Interworking in the exhibition.
There
was an interesting MUSE Winterschool on access architecture and 14 oral papers
in the regular programme. Presentations can be downloaded from the Muse website
http://www.ist-muse.org
or conference website http://www.bbeurope.org/
BB
Europe 2007 will be hosted in Antwerp on December 3-6, 2007
Mark
your calendars and stay tuned to http://www.bbeurope.org
For
the first time, the conference will be complemented with a professional
exhibition on BB technology (cf. http://www.broadbandeurope.biz/).
MUSE
will again be technical sponsor of NOC 2007, Kista (near Stockholm), June 18-21,
2007
The
12th European Conference on Networks and Optical Communications will be hosted
by ACREO and co-located with the 14th MUSE

meeting. A website is under construction, for more info contact noc2007@acreo.se
Short
survey of some public deliverables that were released at the end of the 3rd year
"Access
Network Architecture III"
The
deliverable contains three parts that summarise the architectural studies of
2006. A first general part describes a generic business model, AAA architecture,
IP sessions, and recommendations for QoS. A second part investigates the
distribution of SBC functions in the access network and discusses QoE
requirements. A last part introduces basic concepts for nomadism and session
continuity, which will be worked out in the coming year. Several of these
results have also been forwarded to the DSL Forum and ETSI TISPAN."
"Advanced
features for multimedia enabled access platforms"
,
"Video Distribution Support", and
"Flexible
multi-service edge router"
, are
three deliverables from Subproject B that cover enhancements of network elements
in the access and edge to improve the support of multimedia services.
"Specification
of Residential Gateway enhancements"describes a residential gateway
suited for multiplay services.
"Specification
of Residential Gateway configuration"introduces some advanced concepts
to remotely configure and manage a residential gateway and devices in the home
network.
13th
MUSE consortium meeting
More
than 120 participants are expected at the 13th Consortium Meeting hosted by
Siemens in Vienna from February 12-16, 2007. A lot of discussion time will be
devoted to the definition of the lab trials that are due in the fourth and last
year of the project.
