Abstract: This document describes the realisation of alternative techniques for Burst Mode receivers within the OLT as part of the development of GPON and XL-PON in the MUSE II SPE (WPE2). This includes a prototype of an Edge-Detection Burst Mode Receiver for GPON and XL-PON. Furthermore, the results show a prototype that improvess the upstream transmission data to bit rates higher than GPON and XL-PON specifications.
