Lab trials

D B4.1

Description of stand-alone lab-trial set-up and test specifications

Abstract: The sub-project B demonstrator “migration scenarios” is a multi-edge access network that provides triple-play services according the MUSE architecture. It contains several innovative edge solutions such as the packet-to-packet gateway used for real-time conversational services and a TVoIP Head-End encoding the data in MPEG-4. The Home Gateway is operated in routed mode. The access multiplexer is operated in the new IP forwarding mode and has been enhanced with two service enablers: the TCP accelerator and the time-shifted TV. Migration to the new architecture is supported by a legacy Ethernet/ATM/ADSL2+ in the first mile and high speed Internet Access with PPP via the BRAS at the edge.
