Abstract:

This document presents several advanced features for the access platform, especially the access multiplexer. The service plane is an intermediate plane between the access multiplexer data and control planes and new services. The monitoring / knowledge plane concept aims at gathering information about the access network to evaluate the quality experienced by the user. Two use cases supporting a video service are being investigated: the TCP monitoring and the RTP/RTCP monitoring. One of these use cases will be implemented on top of the service plane.
