Abstract: The evolution of the access networks towards a multi-edge architecture allows the introduction of new network elements like the packet-to-packet gateway that offers real-time conversational services based on SIP with an enhanced and controlled security and quality of service.

This deliverable describes the implementation, both hardware and software, and tests of a packet-to-packet gateway that is the media part of a Session Border Controller (SBC). The proof of concept has been achieved by realizing a prototype as a lab demonstrator.
