Abstract:
A
step forward to seamless networking in all-IP networks is the IP
Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), originally standardized by 3GPP and later
adopted by ETSI/TISPAN. To meet future demands in a highly competitive and
dynamic environment, also new disruptive concepts beyond today’s
understanding of IMS have to be considered. This Deliverable describes the
evolution from the concept of the packet-to-packet gateway, developed
during Phase I of MUSE (DB1.6) towards the Multi-Service Edge Router
(MS-ER), thought as key element for an optimized IMS deployment.
